Mark your calendar for February 7, 2019! The tour for this year is kicking off in Las Vegas with No Vet Alone and Elliott McKenzie!
No Vet Alone will team with Mandalay Bay, KINGS of MUSIC Las Vegas, Feyline Entertainment, and KLAS Ch. 8 to showcase Veteran performers and the power that music can have in preventing suicide and improving whole health. The inaugural concert will take place on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 pm at the Rhythm and Riffs Lounge at Mandalay Bay. The concert features Veterans Elliott McKenzie and Sailor Jerri and is open to the public. Veteran Performers will participate in the No Vet Alone Music Saves Life! Initiative throughout the year and in addition to performing for vets in the shows, Elliott and Jerri will have the opportunity to appear on the “Amateur Night at the Apollo” national show sometime in 2019. About Elliott: Elliott served in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Iraq war. He joined the Marines only five days after graduating high school. He also served as a civil affairs specialist with the Army Reserves. Due to his combat experience, he began dealing with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, Elliott became homeless and dropped out of school. Elliott has found a way to use his music as a way to literally save his own life. He has been able to achieve his bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science. About Jerri: Jerri served in the U.S. Navy. While serving in the US Navy, she worked as an Aviation Mechanic on F/A 18's with the VFA 83 Rampagers. Jerri started playing guitar and singing for the long term care at the VA, and in veteran support groups. Her Veteran version of “Hallelujah” has more than 250 million views and helped launch a whirlwind career almost overnight. "I feel that music is therapeutic and everyone should learn to play. I hope that seeing my struggles to learn, and seeing the progress Ive made will encourage others to take the time and spend the time and energy."
